Client portfolio · business-led white space

Find which client accounts justify a closer look.

I screen an existing B2B client base for material change, then identify where deeper analysis may reveal a legitimate point for intervention.

The problem

Account activity can stay quiet while the economics underneath it change.

Renewal dates, meetings and product usage describe the relationship. They may not explain changes in the client's market, cost structure, operating model or priorities.

A portfolio review looks for that movement before account time is spent on the wrong clients.

Screening logic

From client list to accounts worth examining.

The depth depends on portfolio size and the context available. The first pass stays deliberately light.

01 / Context

Current relationship

What you sell, which accounts matter, what each client already buys and what your team already knows.

02 / External change

Client movement

I look for material change in the underlying businesses and test where its effects are likely to land.

03 / Prioritisation

Where to look deeper

Accounts are separated by strength of evidence and whether the change appears capable of creating a relevant intervention point.

Output

A portfolio view based on client change.

The output identifies which accounts show material external change, where the likely consequences may land, whether a point for intervention is plausible and what is still unknown.

Selected accounts can then move into a Client Situation Review.

The point is to direct account attention where the business change warrants it. Retention risk, changed scope or expansion may appear. None is assumed.

Ongoing use

Client analysis can sit outside the account team.

For selected key accounts, I can maintain the working business context and revisit it on an agreed cycle.

The account team remains responsible for the relationship. ProperBizFix supplies the analytical layer behind the decision.

Not sure whether portfolio work is justified?

Start with one account. The £99 First Client Situation Check shows the analytical approach before committing to portfolio work.

I will scope the first pass around portfolio size, available context and the depth of analysis you need.
