A decision can be supported - or the gap can sit in two different places.
The review starts with a decision the client now needs to make. It then establishes whether the current configuration supports that decision and what business consequence exists if it does not.
Decision already supported
The current configuration provides the information this decision requires. No decision-support gap is indicated for this point.
Decision not supported by the current configuration
The client now needs to make a decision for which the current configuration does not provide the required information. The review records the business consequence and what would need to be verified before a system change is discussed.
Decision depends on information outside the current system
The decision requires information that is not created or connected elsewhere in the client’s business. The exposure exists at decision level, but changing CRM alone would not resolve it.
The output locates the decision-support gap.
The value is not simply identifying a possible CRM change. It is showing which decision is unsupported, why that matters to the client and whether the missing layer sits in CRM, another system or upstream data creation.
The partner can then decide which technical response is appropriate instead of starting from a predefined solution.
